and the Power of the Internet

Last night, Steve logged onto the computer and clicked the Internet shortcut on his monitor. He has used the Internet for years, but is not aware that there is a language used for creating the websites on the World Wide Web that he visits every day.

To create a website that will be viewed on the World Wide Web, we must understand the basic concepts of how the Internet came to be and how users interact with it.

The Internet also allows individuals to reach a large number of people cheaply and relatively easily with accurate and useful information (or, inaccurate or not-too-useful information). This is the main reason that I wanted to learn more about it while working on my Senior Project.

The questions that I will try to answer in this section are: what is the Internet, when did the Internet come about, and how is it used today?
